Exchanging Money

Most major banks in Singapore can be found in the CDB, but some are on Orchard Road, and local banks all around the city. Exchanging money in some banks will be plus a service charge on each exchange transaction at about S$2 or S$3, but is best to ask first for your own advantage just in case it's more than that.

Banks in Singapore open from 09.30 - 15.00 on weekdays and from 09.30 - 11.30 on Saturday.

Cash
Cash plays an important role here as buying small things from street vendors or foods in food courts are insisted on cash payment.

Traveller Cheques

Traveller cheques might be important when the ATM is out of order. Traveller cheques are sold at post offices in Singapore.

ATM

Visa, MasterCard and other cards connected to the Plus or Circus networks are accepted in Singapore. ATMs are around Singapore, especially in huge shopping centers, MTR station, and other places along the streets.

Credit Cards

Almost every major credit card is accepted in Singapore. To use it in Singapore, you have to watch out as if the shops insist on adding a credit card surcharge or not as the tourism authorities are very concerned about this issue. If that happens, please contact the relevant credit company in Singapore.
