Walk back onto Serangoon Road and visit Sri
Veeramakaliamman, this temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Kali -
she is know as the Goddess of Power and the name "Veeramakaliamman"
means "Kali the Courageous". On the holy days (Tuesdays and
Fridays), the streets are busy with devotees on their way to pray, worship
and make request to Kali for blessings. With its colorful tower over the
entrance gate, this is clearly a temple in the South Indian Dravidian
style - a superb collection of colorful painted Hindu figures decorate the
tower.
