Our first stop is in the Arab Street
where you will find Indonesian batiks, Persian rugs, Turkish scents as
well as antiques from the Middle East. Next, take a trip down to Serangoon
Road, also as Little India to the locals, and be charmed by its
colorful side streets which make up the community of Indians. . Move on to
Chinatown where the first immigrants from China settled in the
later half 19th century. Baroque-style shop houses with weathered shutters
and ornamentation can be seen in some of the streets. Have a chance to
board on one of the Chinese Junk - traditional sailing ships of
the East, and cruise around our harbor. You will get a chance to catch
a glimpse of the Central Business District, the financial hub of
Singapore on the one hour ride.
